When we are integrated with ourselves, our unique path to love the world becomes clear. This is a warrior’s journey. It draws a through-line from our inner development outward to the commitments we care about. It reveals our most authentic nature.
The opportunity of this moment is outside of the contexts and beliefs that created it. Humanity will either create more of the same, or something in the realm of what’s possible. The practice of reinvention asserts that a human being has agency to constitute themselves separate from histories, circumstances, or roles. But reinvention does not occur in a vacuum. The status quo does.
The mind is structured and structuring. What a person believes is possible for themselves is consistent with their self-concept. How we treat one another is consistent with our stories about one another. The circumstances we create reflect our perception of reality. What we experience as human beings reflects what we believe is possible for humanity.
Creativity is always possible.
Our experience of ourselves, one another, and the world, can be a creative one, if we are willing to disrupt the status quo of our own mind’s structure.
Evolving our minds collectively begins individually: do I dare to create new ways of being, doing and having? Do I dare challenge my comfortable and familiar neural pathways? Do I dare discover what is possible for myself, beyond what I think I already know?
These inquiries are not for the faint-hearted, and have consequences: The experience of being fully alive; of allowing the fullness of your own humanity; becoming unguarded in life; healing and integrating the past; being and being with; creating a future from integrity and authenticity; experiencing one’s self as the source and author of one’s life.
Other consequences include: empathetic leadership, healed family systems, clarity of purpose and legacy, availability for trust and intimacy, forgiveness of the past, health and integration, self-efficacy and self-care, the wherewithal to be one’s self in any room, with any person.
